Together with the Brazilian associate Domingos Spinelli, SurTec, the German supplier of surface treatment products, founded SurTec do Brasil. On its site in São Bernardo do Campo close to São Paulo, it will start its business on 1st July, 1999 with aprrox. 50 persons.

The chemical and electroplating business of Roshaw, which was SurTec's licensee for many years, along with the small specialty company Formulart were integrated into the new company in the course of June. On May 28th, all related contracts were signed.

“With new and innovative ideas, we want to gain a strong position on the Brazilian market,“ said Luiz Santos, Commercial Director of SurTec do Brasil.

Brazil, with its aprrox. 160 million people, its huge metal industry and the numerous branches of international groups such as General Motors, Volkswagen, Bosch and many others, represents today one of the biggest markets in the area of surface technology worldwide.
