SurTec 609 ZetaCoat

Properties

SurTec 609 ZetaCoat is a new, patented technology for pretreatment and passivation of steel, zinc and aluminium as well as its layers before laquering or powder coating and was developed as an alternative to phosphatings.

This process of the latest generation is eco-efficient and based on trivalent chromium. It builds an oxidic, some nanometer thin protective layer with outstanding corrosion protection and provides an excellent paint adhesion. The ZetaCoat-conversion layer has ceramic properties, even if it is not build with a disperion of nano particles. Opposite to nanoceramic layers, ZetaCoat has the advantage, that this protection with its yellowish to gold color is visible and therefore allows an easy visual control.

Besides this, ZetaCoat stands for easy handling and ecologically compatibility. The process is free from zinc, manganese, nickel, phosphate and nitrite and does not contain any mutagen additives as hydroxylamine or hydroxyl ammonium sulfate, which are hazardous to the environment. The process forms no sludge, which is normal for regular phosphatings. ZetaCoat contains a little amount of trivalent chromium and it is the only process on the market without dangerous symbol on the labeling, by now. Certainly, ZetaCoat meets all requirements according RoHS and WEEE.
